Solemn Liturgy at Maria Lourdes Church, Meidling, 15:00 hrs.
St. Mary's Orthodox and Voice of Stadlau won the
First prizes for Seniors
There were 18 groups
participated with enthusiasm in the competition that was
organised by Indian Catholic Community Vienna on Sunday 13th
Dec. 2009 at Maria Lourdes Church Meidling. The Programme
began with a prayer song followed by the welcome speech by
Rev. P. Dr. Thomas Thandappilly, Chaplain of of ICC. The
Asst. Chaplain Rev. P. Thomas Vadathumukalel has conducted
the draw to select the order of teams to be contested and
announced their names.

Mr. John Nedumthottiyil passed away yesterday 2:30 PM
Mr. John Nedumthottiyil passed away
yesterday afternoon (31.12.2009) at 2:30 PM (IST) in Edakoly, Uzhavoor (Kottayam) Dt). He was 55, survived by
his wife Sagimol. Mr. Nedumthottiyil was on holidays
in India. Funeral will take place tomorrow
(02.01.2010) in St. Anne's Church, Edakoly (Uzhavoor East)

Indian Catholic
Community celebrated the feast of St. Alphonsa on Sunday 11th
October at the parish church Maria Lourdes, Meidling.
The feast began at 2:30 pm with a Solemn Sung Mass led by
ICC Chaplain Rev. P. Dr. Thomas Thandappilly followed by
Flower Procession, Litany, Eucharistic blessing and ended
with an Agape sponsored by the parish members. The
feast attracted hundreds of St. Alphonsa believers gathered
in Maria Lourdes Church to participate in the celebration.
Catechism prizes for the last academic year were distributed

the places where we are going to visit and a detailed

Mr. George Thanikkal
who died in Ernakulam last
month (21.05.2009) will be held on
Sunday 7th June 2009 at Meidling and Stadlau
churches at the same time of regular mass (Meidling 11:30
hrs. Stadlau: 17:30 hrs.). This is an official memorial
mass arranged by ICC. As an ICC Parish member, please try
to join in the service and offer our prayers for the
departed soul. Mr. Thanikkal was an ICC Parish member,
settled in India recently after his retirement.
 Catechism
Exam on 7th June 2009
Final Examination for all Catechism children ( not for 1st
and II nd class) will be conducted on 7th of June in both
centers. Those who are not able to attend the examination on
that day, can attend on 14th of June. If any one have missed
the First semester examination, there is a chance to attend
both examinations together. The mark list will be published
in July/August. Please note that there will no other chances
to attend the examination in this year. .
Wandertag:
We have arranged a Wandertag for 7th class children on 1st
of June to National Park Lobau. The meeting point is Stadlav
Church at 14.00 hours. The program will end at 19.00 hours.
The children should wear sports shoe, Regen schutz and a

Kairali Nikethan Youth Festival - A Spectacular Event
Kairali Nikethan's
traditional
Youth Festival was held at Haus der Begegnung, Floridsdorf on
the 2nd of May 2009 participating about 150 children in 4
different groups contesting their tremendous talents.
Indian Classical, Folk, Christian and Cinematic dances were
performed on the stage. Winners prizes were
distributed by ARGE - AAG General Secretary Mag. Alexander
Kraljic, Rev. P. Joseph Puthenpurackal, ICC Chaplain Rev. P.
Dr. Thomas Thandappilly
and Mag. John Chacko Pallikunnel. PTA President Mr. Joshimon
Ernakeril and committee members express thanks to
everybody for the participation and cooperation to make this

Some inconvenience due to the "Pfarfinder"
function in Stadlau Church, the Cellar is not
available on 18th January. Therefore we
would like to inform all the catechism children
of 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 classes
in Stadlau to come at
16:00 hrs in the church on 18th and 25th
of January to attend the examination. For
children of 1 and 2 will have their regular
classes at 16.45 hrs.

ICC Teenager Convention in October 2009
ICC organises a 3
days Teenager Convention on 24th, 25th and 26th October
2009
at World Youth Centre, St. Gabriel, Mödling for teenagers
who are completed 13 years and not completed 18 years in
October 2009. 60 members have been registered.
The registration was closed on 4th January 2009

Day (Cultural) on 28th June 2008 at Haus der
Begegnung, Florisdorf, Vienna. Mr. Anup
Kumar Mudgal, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy
of India, Vienna was the chief guest
of the function. ICC Chaplain P. Dr. Thomas Thandappilly
welcomed the guests. The programme was
opened by ICC Asst. Chaplain Pater Thomas
Vadathumkualel and invited Mr. Alex
Kallikadan and Ms. Manchu Kinattukara on
the stage to moderate the show.
Ballaton, Semi Classical Fusion, Dance to
Rhythm, Cinematic and variety of entrainment
programme were performed on the stage.
ICC General Coordinator Mr.
Joseph Olimalayil thanked all the participants,
organisers, technicians who worked hard and guests
for their presence. The function came to an end
with the recital of Indian National Anthem.

Catechism Exams on 8th & 15th June 2008
The second semester
examination for catechism students will start on
8th of June and end on 15th of June 2008. Those
who are not able to appear for the examination
during these dates will be given a chance in the
first week of September. It should be informed to
the Catechism Class teachers. The list of Marks and
attendance will be published in July. The
examination for the 7th level also will take place
in September first week. The winners of this level
will be awarded the PRIMARY CATECHETICAL EDUCATION
CERTIFICATE from the Diocese. We request all the
parents to dedicate more time and interest to your
children for their spiritual growth as well.

Kairali Nikethan's

Youth Festival was held at Haus der Begegnung, Floridsdorf on
the 3rd of May 2008. More than 100 children were
participated in the spectacular event contesting their
tremendous talents. Indian Classical, Folk, Christian and Cinematic dances were performed on the
stage. Winners prizes were distributed by ICC Chaplain
P. Dr.

On 26th of October the Bus from
Gruber Company will be ready at 8.30 am at Westbahnhof.
By taking the children from Meidling unit
the bus will move to stadlau ( in front of the church) to
collect the rest of the children at 9.15 am. Please

The Joy and Jubilation filled in the air on the 13th October
2007 evening when Indian Catholic Community Vienna
celebrated its Silver Jubilee Cultural Festival at Haus der

and Most Rev. Mar. Thomas Thurthimattam, Bishop of
Gorakhpur was the Guest of Honour of the function. ICC
Chaplain Pater Dr. Thomas Thandappilly welcomed
guests. The programme was opened by ICC Asst. Chaplain
Pater Thomas Vadathumkualel and invited Mr. Jeevan
Thekekara and Ms. Thushara Aninilkumparambil on the
stage to moderate the show.
Melodies of Jubilee,
Indian state wise traditional dances and social drama
“Nilavinte Niram” were presented on the occasion. Most.
Rev. Mar. Thomas Thuruthimattam, released the Silver
Jubilee Souvenir by giving the first copy to Dr. Johannes
Gönner, Rector of ARGE AAG. ICC General Coordinator
Mr. Joseph Olimalayil thanked all the participants,
sub-committees, technicians who worked hard and guests for their
presence. The function came to an end with the recital of
Indian National Anthem.
Jubilee Solemn Liturgy celebrated by Most Rev. Mar Thomas

October 2007 at Maria Lourdes Church, Meidling, Vienna.
Jubilee Memento to ICC Parish Committee members, Catechism

One Day Study Tour to Forchenstein
The ICC Catechism committee has arranged a one day Study
tour for the 5th class children to Burgenland ( FORCHENSTEIN)
on 26th of October 2007. All students of 5th level
from both centers are requested to participate, except those
who are sick or out of station. It is a part of catechism
and do not miss the chance. The meeting point is at West
bahnhof at 8.30 a.m. and return at 18.30 p.m. The bus will
start at 8.45 a.m. and there will be no waiting for late
comers. The Children should pay € 10.- for Lunch,
refreshment and for bus charge. ICC will bare the rest of
the payment. Please bring break fast, soft drinks and rain

Family sources informed the decision
has been changed and the body of Mrs. Thresia Padamattummel
will be brought to India and the funeral will take place at
her native place in Kerala later.
Mrs. Thresia George Padamattummel (81), wife of late George
Padamattummel, passed away at 0:45 AM on 4th September 2007
in Vienna Rudolfsstiftungs hospital. She has left behind her
children Daisy Edattukaran, Bessy Manavalan, Johnson
Padamattummel (Vienna), Jossy Padamattummel, Silvy Thomas
and Jessymol Thomas (India). One of her sons Paul
Padamttummel died last year. Davis Edattukaran, Manavalan
Johnson (Vienna), Thomas Thalyamayath and Thomas Eranully
(India) are the son-in-laws and Omana Jossy, Sheela Paul are
the daughter-in-laws.

Classes begin on 16th

The catechism
classes will begin for the academic year
2007-2008 on 16th of September 2007.
Registration is needed only for newly joining
children.

Examination for those who were not able to
attend the second semester( 10th and 17th of
June) examination will be given a chance on 16th
of September 10.30 a.m at Meidling and 16.30
p.m. at Stadlau. Parents take this opportunity
seriously and bring your children to attend the
examination. There will be no excuse for those
do not want to attend the examination. The
catechism Mark list and attendance list will be
soon published in both centers

The Bishops of
Kerala make an earnest request to the Pravasi
Malayalees to bring up their children in our
Catholic Faith and Tradition. For that purpose,
they should make use of the given facilities
wherever they live, to the maximum of their
availability. Therefore the Indian Catholic
Parish Community requests all Catholic Families
within the ecclesial boundary of the Archdiocese
of Vienna to make use of the facility of
teaching Catechism for their children above six
years of age, on Sundays of the Academic year.

Kairali Nikethan
starts at new place for the new school year after summer
vacation
Kairally Nikethan School under
Indian Catholic Community has got permission to take classes
from 14.00 hrs to 18.00 in BUNDEOBERSTUFENREALGYMNASIUM ,
Hegelgasse 12, A-1010 Wien. There won't be any more
classes or office for ICC in Scwarzspanierstrasse 15. The
new school in Hegelgasse 12, is very near to Stadtpark (U-4)
and Stefansplatz (U-1). The language classes will start
from Saturday 15th September 2007 along with the
registration of students for dances and Malayalam classes
starting from 14.00 hrs onwards.
Classical and Modern dance classes will start from 22
September 2007 and the registration closes on 29th September
2007.
The General
body and election of Kairally Nikethan PTA committee will be
held on 29th September 2007 at 15.00 hrs in the Turnsall of

Sports competitions were held on Saturday 2nd June 2007 at Neuwaldeggerstr. 57a, 1170 Vienna

Guidelines for the ICC Youth Festival organized by the
Kairali Nikethan
1.
Competitions in Classical dances of all types are
allowed to participants who completed seven years of
age (the first group is then 8-10 years of age).
2.
Concerning the number of dances for each individual
participant, we follow a principle of 2 + 1 =
3, that is: Each individual participant is allowed
to take part in a maximum number of three dances
with secular songs: in one Group Dance and in two
Single Dances.

The meeting
(Poduyogam) started with a prayer at 18:35 HRS. Welcoming
all, the Chaplain, opened the forum suggesting that the

83. The funeral will take place today in Thrissur

Catholic Community Vienna celebrated its 24th Annual
Day (Cultural) on 24th June 2006 at Haus der
Begegnung, Florisdorf, Vienna.
Mar. Mathew Anikuzhikattil, Bishop of Idukki was the chief guest
of the function. ICC Chaplain
Fr. Dr. Thomas Thandappilly welcomed the guests. The programme
began at 18:00 hrs with a prayer dance presented by
Bluinse Chowattukunnel, Sreeja Cherukad and
Fleming Puthenpurayil followed by
variety of entertainment programs performed by our
children and youth, which was indeed a real feast
for the eyes and ears of our community.

ICC Marriage Preparation Course
The Malayalee Parish of the ICC Vienna conducts this course
with the following requirements:
The participants must read and study thoroughly the Syllabus
of the Marriage Preparation Course, approved by the Family
Commission of the Kerala Catholic Bishops Conference. The
booklet of the Syllabus is available with the ICC Chaplain.
Only those who have completed such a personal preparation
are eligible to join the Marriage Preparation Course of the
ICC on dates to be announced in its Website. This Course
will be only for those who understand Malayalam. Course Fee
is Euro 25,-

Stadlau Chapel beginnig at 17.00 hrs till 17.50 hrs

Intensive Preparation for First Communion
This year
the Fist Communion will be on Saturday 10th June
2006 at Maria Lourdes Church, Mediling at 14:30 hrs.
Intensive preparation classes are conducted on every
Sundays from 7th May till 4th June at the same time
of regular catechism classes. Parents please
encourage and help the children to learn prayers
(books named "Aadhya Qurbana Sweekaranam" are already given
to the catechism children") and teach the value and
importance of this sacrament and follow the
directions given by the teachers.

Wonderful Spectacular Day
Kairali Nikethan
Youth Festival was held at Haus der Begegnung, Florisdorf on
the 30th April 2006 with competitions starting from 10:00 am
and ending about 8:00 pm. Indian Classical, Modern,
Christian, Cinematic and folk dances were performed on the
stage. Winners prizes were distributed by ICC Chaplain Fr. Dr.
Thomas Thandappilly. PTA committee members express thanks to
everybody for the participation and cooperation to make this
event a big success.

The following are the
readings of the Holy Week. Please note that these
readings are printed texts in our Malayalam Holy Week
Liturgy books and they are to be followed and
practised from those books and not from the Bible
directly, because there are some minor changes of words

are willing to make a reading in the holy week will be
